Job Description

Description:

Help build a function that protects and strengthens Acumen's growth.

At Acumen Fiscal Agent, we help people live more independently.

We partner with state governments, health plans, and community programs to administer self-directed care programs—enabling individuals with disabilities, aging adults, and veterans to hire and manage their own caregivers while remaining in their homes and communities.

Behind the scenes, we operate the systems and processes that make this possible, including payroll, tax compliance, enrollment, customer service, financial operations, and electronic visit verification.

We are establishing a dedicated Contract Management function and are seeking a Manager, Contract Management to lead this effort. This role will own contract lifecycle management, negotiations, renewals, governance, contract systems, and portfolio visibility while partnering closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Quality & Compliance, Technology, and executive leadership.

This is a unique opportunity to build an important operational capability from the ground up and directly influence company growth, risk management, and executive effectiveness.

What You’ll Do

You will own Acumen's contract portfolio and serve as the organizational quarterback for contract lifecycle activities from award through closeout.

Lead Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, notices, obligations, and closeout activities
  • Maintain centralized contract repositories and governance processes
  • Ensure contract activities follow established approval and governance standards
  • Maintain contract templates, playbooks, workflows, and operating procedures

Lead Contract Negotiations & Commercial Coordination

  • Lead contract renewals, amendments, redlines, and negotiations
  • Coordinate stakeholder review and approval processes
  • Manage outside counsel engagement and legal review coordination
  • Support executive leadership in major negotiations and strategic contract initiatives

Build Contract Portfolio Visibility & Analytics

  • Maintain contract portfolio reporting, dashboards, and key performance metrics
  • Track notice periods, obligations, pricing structures, key dates, and risk indicators
  • Support leadership, Finance, and Board reporting with contract portfolio insights
  • Identify opportunities for improved economics, governance, and portfolio performance

Establish Systems, Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) implementation and ongoing administration
  • Improve contract processes, workflows, and performance measurement
  • Build scalable contract standards and governance practices
  • Develop reporting and visibility tools for leadership and stakeholders

Lead and Develop the Contract Management Function

  • Supervise and develop Contract Management team members
  • Establish clear ownership, role definitions, and capacity planning
  • Build documentation, training materials, and departmental standards
  • Recommend future staffing, process, and technology enhancements
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5–10 years of contract management, procurement, sourcing, legal operations, or related experience
  • Experience negotiating and managing commercial agreements
  • Experience coordinating reviews among multiple stakeholders
  • Strong Excel, reporting, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and drive outcomes with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing or administering CLM platforms
  • Experience in healthcare, government, Medicaid, managed care, or regulated contracting environments
  • Experience leading contract-process improvement initiatives
  • Experience supervising employees or leading small teams
  • Experience working with outside counsel and contract redlines
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and board-level reporting

What Makes This Role Unique

  • Build and lead a new strategic function
  • Own a contract portfolio that supports nearly all company revenue
  • Lead contract governance, systems, negotiation, and reporting initiatives
  • Work directly with executive leadership on high-impact business decisions, including reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer
  • Influence pricing, terms, risk management, and operational scalability
  • Operate in a high-ownership role focused on outcomes, not administration
