Position Summary
Legacy Risk Solutions is seeking an experienced Transportation Account Manager – Commercial Lines to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of commercial transportation insurance accounts and partnering with Producers to deliver strategic insurance solutions and exceptional client service.
The ideal candidate has strong Commercial Lines experience with specific knowledge of the transportation, trucking, or commercial auto insurance market. This individual understands the unique exposures and coverage needs of transportation clients and is comfortable managing complex accounts involving commercial auto, motor truck cargo, general liability, physical damage, and related coverages.
This role plays a key part in client retention, account growth, and ensuring the timely and accurate servicing of transportation insurance programs while building trusted relationships with clients, carrier partners, and internal teams.
What You’ll Do
· Manage the full lifecycle of commercial transportation accounts, including new business, renewals, endorsements, policy changes, and ongoing account servicing.
· Partner with Producers to develop renewal and account strategies, prepare for client meetings, and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and address changing transportation exposures.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for transportation clients, providing responsive and consultative service regarding coverage, policy, billing, certificates, and other account needs.
· Manage insurance programs that may include commercial auto liability, physical damage, motor truck cargo, general liability, umbrella/excess liability, workers’ compensation, trailer interchange, non-trucking liability, and other transportation-related coverages.
· Prepare applications and submissions for new and renewal transportation business, ensuring carrier partners receive complete and accurate underwriting information.
· Gather and maintain transportation-specific underwriting information, including driver lists, vehicle and equipment schedules, loss history, mileage, radius of operations, commodities hauled, and other required exposure information.
· Review carrier proposals, quotes, endorsements, and policy documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate coverage.
· Review driver and vehicle changes and coordinate policy updates with carrier partners as needed.
· Process endorsements, renewals, cancellations, premium audits, and other policy changes while maintaining compliance with agency and carrier guidelines.
· Coordinate policy binding, billing inquiries, premium audits, non-renewals, and other account activities.
· Manage certificate of insurance requests and ensure certificates accurately reflect policy coverage and contractual requirements.
· Assist with transportation-related filings and documentation required by carriers or regulatory authorities, as applicable.
· Collect loss information, order and review loss runs, and maintain accurate client records and documentation.
· Identify significant changes in client operations or exposures and communicate those changes to Producers and carrier partners.
· Maintain complete and organized electronic files within Applied Epic and other agency management systems.
· Build strong working relationships with transportation insurance underwriters and carrier partners to support successful account management, placement, and client retention.
· Stay informed of transportation insurance market conditions, underwriting requirements, carrier appetites, and emerging industry trends.
· Deliver exceptional client service while ensuring transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Requirements:What We’re Looking For
· Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required.
· Minimum of four years of Commercial Lines insurance or account management experience.
· Previous experience supporting transportation, trucking, commercial auto, or fleet insurance accounts strongly preferred.
· Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance products, with an understanding of transportation-specific coverages and exposures.
· Familiarity with commercial auto, motor truck cargo, physical damage, general liability, umbrella/excess, workers’ compensation, and other transportation-related insurance products.
· Understanding of transportation underwriting information, including driver schedules, vehicle schedules, loss history, operating radius, commodities hauled, and fleet exposures.
· Familiarity with transportation insurance certificates, filings, and regulatory requirements preferred.
· Experience working with Applied Epic or a similar agency management system required.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and renewal deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Producers, transportation underwriters, carrier partners, and internal teams.
