This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Solution Architect – Managed Services based in India.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on designing and operating large-scale, cloud-native data platforms for global enterprise clients.
You will combine deep data engineering expertise with strategic consulting and hands-on architectural leadership.
The role spans modern data ecosystems across Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks, and a broad range of integration and orchestration technologies.
You will translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing platform architectures while driving measurable client outcomes.
As a trusted technical advisor, you will work directly with senior stakeholders, lead architecture discussions, and influence long-term data platform strategies.
You will also mentor engineering teams and contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, and managed-services best practices.

- Own the architecture, provisioning, operationalisation, and continuous improvement of cloud-native data platforms across AWS, Azure, and modern data ecosystems.
- Translate complex client requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing data platform architectures.
- Lead the design and delivery of solutions leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, and other modern data-stack platforms.
- Manage multiple client engagements and technical environments simultaneously, ensuring delivery remains on time, within scope, and aligned with measurable business outcomes.
- Analyse complex customer environments, define and prioritise Epics, Stories, and Tasks, and drive initiatives that mature and improve data platforms.
- Identify opportunities to automate, optimise, modernise, and expand client platform capabilities and managed-service offerings.
- Lead technical teams responsible for modern data platforms spanning data warehouses, data lakes, streaming, analytics, and distributed data technologies.
- Provide technical leadership during client workshops, discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and solution-design discussions.
- Advise clients on technology selection and architecture decisions with a focus on performance, security, scalability, reliability, and user experience.
- Establish high-quality engineering standards through code reviews, technical documentation, governance, performance tuning, and operational best practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive client stakeholders, helping shape data-platform roadmaps and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and coach engineers, delegate effectively, and foster a culture of technical excellence, learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with practice and account leadership to identify opportunities for engagement expansion and standardise successful delivery patterns.
- Contribute to internal intellectual property, accelerators, delivery frameworks, technical playbooks, and reusable engineering assets.
- Lead detailed technical presentations and architecture recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.
- Represent the organisation professionally in all client interactions and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels and functions.
- 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, managed services, or related technical disciplines, with substantial hands-on experience in enterprise cloud environments.
- Advanced expertise in cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and/or Databricks.
- Extensive experience architecting and providing operational guidance for enterprise cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and/or Amazon Redshift.
- Strong production experience with cloud and distributed data-storage technologies, including S3, ADLS, Cassandra, or comparable NoSQL platforms.
- Hands-on experience with modern data integration and streaming technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Matillion, Fivetran, HVR, AWS Database Migration Service, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong knowledge of workflow orchestration technologies such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, or Luigi.
- Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write, debug, optimise, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable technologies.
- Experience developing automation for repetitive administrative and operational tasks using Python or a similar programming language.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and experience with tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, and Liquibase.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills across complex, multi-technology environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects for external clients within professional services, consulting, managed services, or similar environments.
- Ability to break complex technical and business problems into structured, actionable solutions and drive them through to resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to executive audiences.
- Proven experience as a technical team lead, including mentoring, coaching, delegation, and engineering talent development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across distributed, cross-functional, and geographically diverse teams.
- Strong ownership and organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments while proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced Certification is preferred.
- Experience with data visualisation tools and exposure to data science or machine-learning platform operations is an advantage.
- Experience across multiple industries or business domains within managed services or platform operations is desirable.
- Previous experience working with global or remote teams across US, LATAM, and/or India time zones is a plus.
- Contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, conference presentations, or internal technical accelerators are valued.
