This role offers the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide strategies for secure data storage, access, classification, and usage.
You’ll analyze how systems, tools, endpoints, and business groups handle sensitive information across a complex technology environment.
Your work will help identify high-risk data practices and determine where VDI or other secure access and storage approaches can deliver the greatest value.
You’ll bridge business, security, and technology teams by translating complex findings into practical recommendations and migration priorities.
The position combines business analysis, data governance, security assessment, stakeholder engagement, and technology strategy.
You’ll contribute to business cases, migration roadmaps, compliance processes, and executive-level decision-making.

- Partner with business groups across the organization to inventory systems, tools, endpoints, and data usage patterns associated with physical device storage.
- Assess and classify data sensitivity across business groups, systems, processes, and workflows.
- Identify critical systems and high-risk data storage practices that should be prioritized for migration to VDI or other secure solutions.
- Document current-state and proposed future-state models for data storage, access, and usage.
- Evaluate viable approaches, including VDI, enhanced access controls, and other secure data management solutions, and recommend the most appropriate option for each use case.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for VDI migration, considering security risks, costs, operational impact, adoption, and business requirements.
- Analyze and document data and process flows across systems, servers, networks, and endpoints to support risk assessments and migration planning.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, requirements sessions, and discovery activities across multiple departments.
- Collaborate with Security, Technology, and Business teams to validate findings and ensure recommendations align with established data policies.
- Present analysis, findings, recommendations, and business cases to technology leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Support the development of a structured migration roadmap, including dependencies, priorities, risks, and change management considerations.
- Analyze and help design privileged access management processes and frameworks as part of broader data security initiatives.
- Support the development of auditing and compliance review processes covering data usage, access controls, and end-to-end data security.
- Translate complex technical and security findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of professional Business Analyst experience, including work involving data governance, data classification or sensitivity assessments, IT infrastructure, endpoint environments, or related initiatives.
- Proven experience analyzing system usage and data flows across multiple business units, departments, or complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of secure data storage, data access, classification, governance, and risk assessment principles.
- Familiarity with VDI concepts and platforms such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical domains.
- Strong stakeholder interview, requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and discovery skills.
- Experience translating analysis and stakeholder input into clear, practical, and actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop use cases, cost-benefit analyses, business cases, migration recommendations, and executive-ready documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively bridge business, security, and technical audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups, priorities, and workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with data classification frameworks and security or compliance standards such as NIST and ISO 27001 is preferred.
- Experience with endpoint management, IT asset management, or physical device inventory tools is an advantage.
- Prior consulting or contract-based Business Analyst experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with higher-education or nonprofit technology environments is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and develop evidence-based recommendations.
