User Engagement Lead in Springfield, Virginia at High Side Technology, Inc.

We are seeking a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Product Owner / User Engagement Lead to connect end users, mission stakeholders, engineering teams, and product leadership. This role will identify GEOINT analyst user needs, translate mission requirements into product development priorities, and ensure solutions align with real-world workflows.

The ideal candidate has experience in GEOINT analysis, user engagement, product ownership, requirements analysis, and user-centered design and can operate effectively in complex, mission-driven environments.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with users, stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership, and advocate for end users throughout the product lifecycle.
• Partner with and provide guidance to engineers, architects, designers, analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
• Translate user feedback and mission requirements into product requirements.
• Own and prioritize product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature requirements.
• Apply User-Centered Design (UCD) principles to improve usability and alignment with user workflows.
• Develop personas, workflows, use cases, wireframes, prototypes, and related artifacts as needed.
• Coordinate user testing and feedback cycles to validate designs and functionality.
• Define product priorities, release goals, and success measures.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, demonstrations, feedback sessions, and usability assessments.
• Maintain product, research, workflow, and stakeholder documentation.
• Balance user needs, mission priorities, technical constraints, schedule, and resources.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8-10 years of experience in GEOINT product ownership, product management, UCD, UX, requirements analysis, GEOINT analysis or business analysis.
• Experience working directly with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and improve products.
• Experience managing product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Understanding of UCD, Human Factors Engineering (HFE), UX, or similar methodologies.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear direction for technical teams.
• TS/SCI and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, national security, or other mission-critical environments.
• Experience working with government users, operators, analysts, or mission stakeholders.
• Experience with UX research, usability testing, prototyping, or interaction design.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Figma, Miro, or similar tools.
• Experience developing product roadmaps and release strategies.
• Familiarity with modern software architectures, APIs, cloud environments, or data-driven applications.
• Experience and or familiarity with iSpy.
• UI/UX Development Support experience.
• Product/ backlog management experience.
• Experience collecting user feedback & metrics.
