Position_Description :
Job Overview
- The accounting intern supports the Accounting and Finance team. This internship offers hands-on experience in daily accounting operations and data processing, while providing opportunities to learn from industry professionals. This is a fully in-person position, with no hybrid or remote work. You will work out of our corporate headquarters located in Maple Grove, MN.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support inventory reporting, material sales tracking and reconciliation processes.
- Assist with fixed asset tracking, equipment capitalization, and depreciation schedules to support accurate financial reporting.
- Work with the Accounting and Finance team on daily tasks and projects.
- Help prepare documentation for internal use.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Traditional indoor office environment. Some office workers may travel to construction sites periodically.
Physical Demands
- The physical demands that are described are representative of but not limited to the physical exertion generally required to perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time while using a keyboard. They are frequently required to stand and walk. They are occasionally required to lift, carry, push, pull, and reach overhead materials up to 20 pounds, along with frequent gross manipulation using their hands. The visual requirements include demonstrating or having vision corrected to 20/20. In general, this position includes sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and/or standing as well as repeating motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Position Requirements :
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Junior or Senior within a 4-year degree program.
- Interest and knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
- Desire to gain hands-on experience in the office and field by shadowing knowledgeable professionals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Demonstrated ability to use software programs including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all Company safety requirements, policies, and any required safety training.
