Position Summary

The Floral Farmer supports all aspects of flower production on the farm, working under the direction of the Farm Manager and in collaboration with the SingleThread team. This hands-on role involves everything from greenhouse propagation to fieldwork, harvesting, and order fulfillment, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and timely communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine field tasks: planting, weeding, mulching, irrigating, spraying, and managing pests/diseases
• Perform greenhouse activities: seed sowing, thinning, potting up, and propagation
• Harvest flowers and execute post-harvest handling, including washing, sorting, and packing
• Coordinate floral order communication, preparation for both internal and external clients
• Maintain organized workspaces and equipment care standards
• Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and supervisors
• Support the farm’s Kaizen philosophy through continuous improvement and attention to detail
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Farm Manager

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in floral farming or relevant agricultural work
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Highly dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require
• Commitment to a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and continuous learning

ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully in compliance with federal, state, and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time throughout the workday
• Must be able to bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently
• Ability to climb stairs and steps and physically maneuver through diverse and changing work environments
