Purpose of the Role

To lead the safe, planned and right-first-time completion of fit-out, architectural finishes and CSA works within Cental modular units. The role is accountable for daily workface control, labour and material readiness, quality close-out and release of completed modules for wrapping, transport and handover.

Direct Reports: Fit Out and Finish Chargehand and allocated operatives

Location: Carlow manufacturing facility, with occasional support at customer or project sites

Employment: Full time

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, sequence and supervise fit-out, finishes and CSA completion works across assigned modules and work areas.

• Lead installation and finishing activities including floors, walls, ceilings, doors, ironmongery, architectural finishes, firestopping, sealing, coatings, protection and final detailing.

• Manage relevant CSA completion items including openings, supports, penetrations, architectural interfaces and remedial works.

• Set daily work plans, allocate labour, control productivity and remove constraints in line with the agreed integrated production plan.

• Confirm work is undertaken to released drawings, approved methods, quality requirements and safe systems of work.

• Ensure materials, kits, tools, access and permits are available before work starts; escalate shortages or design constraints promptly.

• Coordinate workface and interface requirements with fabrication, electrical, mechanical, engineering, quality, purchasing and planning teams.

• Own fit-out and finish snags from identification through corrective action, verification and close-out; maintain real-time status visibility.

• Prepare work areas for inspections, quality hold points, red-tag readiness, wrapping, transport and handover.

• Carry out routine quality checks and support traceable installation verification, red-line information and completion records.

• Lead daily safety engagement, toolbox talks and task-specific controls; ensure hazards, changes and non-conformances are addressed immediately.

• Coach chargehands and operatives, set clear standards of workmanship and maintain a disciplined, collaborative production environment.

Key Interfaces

• Fabrication Lead: priorities, resources, delivery performance and escalation of constraints.

• Integrated Planning: short-interval plans, progress updates, recovery actions and look-ahead readiness.

• Engineering and BIM: released information, technical queries, design changes and accurate installation verification.

• Purchasing and Materials: material readiness, shortages, substitutions and fit-out kits.

• Quality and Commissioning: inspections, hold points, snags, evidence and release readiness.

• Fabrication and Electrical Leads: coordinated workfaces, interfaces and protection of completed work.

Experience and Competence

• Proven supervisory experience in fit-out, architectural finishes, CSA or modular/off-site construction.

• Experience delivering high-specification commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical or data-centre projects is strongly preferred.

• Strong practical knowledge of internal fit-out, finishing standards, firestopping, doors, floors, architectural interfaces and protection of finished work.

• Ability to read construction drawings and work effectively with digital drawings, quality records and production trackers.

• Demonstrable experience leading labour, controlling subcontract work where required, and delivering against short-interval plans.

• Sound working knowledge of safe systems of work, RAMS, permits, risk assessment and housekeeping standards.

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and production/project management systems and experience with Monday.com

• Relevant trade qualification, construction supervision qualification or equivalent experience. Safe Pass and manual handling certification required; CSCS supervision training is desirable.
