Schedule: M-F 8-4:30PM (in-person, some remote work available)
Salary: $93,371-$134,451/yr

Position SummaryThe Manager of Outpatient Telehealth Services provides operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for telehealth services. This position develops, implements, optimizes, and evaluates telehealth services, remote patient monitoring programs, and related digital health initiatives while overseeing daily telehealth operations. The Manager ensures compliance with regulatory, licensure, privacy, quality, and reimbursement requirements and promotes equitable access to high-quality patient care. In collaboration with executive leadership, clinical leaders, Information Technology (IT), quality, billing, and operations teams, the Manager improves telehealth workflows, EHR functionality, clinician adoption, data capture, reporting, and emerging technology solutions. This role also supports innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth for remote clinical services. The Manager partners with clinical directors and staff supervisors to ensure staff maintain discipline-specific competencies and meet in-state and out-of-state telehealth licensure requirements. This position also ensures staffing-to-patient ratios are appropriate to meet the needs of the hospital’s telehealth services.
Position Requirements:- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association. Prefer licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist or Social Worker with up to date discipline specific required certifications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in clinically-related field required. Master’s degree preferred from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, and/or Healthcare Administration.
- Experience: Experience or understanding of evaluation and treatment processes necessary to evaluate and treat associated outpatient population (TBI and/or SCI as applicable); experience with supervision of staff strongly preferred; experience managing telehealth programs or relevant management experience.
- Skills & Abilities: Excellent team-building, conflict resolution, and verbal and written communication skills. Leadership and high-level problem solving skills. Ability to present with positive attitude, direction, and discipline for staff in the program with support of appropriate clinical director(s). Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines. Ability to develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures that span multiple disciplines and diagnoses and adhere to larger hospital and department policy and practice. Ability to use professional judgment to identify areas for improvement and participate in development of quality initiatives. Work collaboratively with other departments and physicians. Very strong computer application and technology skills to support telehealth providers, outpatients and caregivers, and program needs.
Leadership & Oversight

Coordinate and advise telehealth program clinical staff as well as telehealth program non-clinical staff in completing daily responsibilities.

Oversee assigned outpatient telehealth program and monitoring required staff competency(ies).

Assist with interviewing and hiring of departmental staff. Orient and train staff in proper work practices when they are hired and conduct and evaluate retraining and refresher training as needed.

Serve as a resource to the outpatient telehealth providers for coaching, problem-solving, and outpatient care planning. Provide mentorship and cultivate a culture of engagement, innovation, and accountability.

Identify equipment needs and staff training requirements that support progressive, state-of-the-art therapy interventions and telehealth services.

Maintain standards of clinical practice to ensure exceptional care in which evidence-based practice is translated into direct clinical care.
Telehealth Program Leadership

Serve as the operational and strategic leader for telehealth services and remote care programs, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, strategic priorities, and value-based care initiatives.

Develop, implement, and maintain policies, protocols, procedures, and workflows governing telehealth encounters and remote patient monitoring services.

Ensure telehealth services comply with applicable regulatory, accreditation, licensure, reimbursement, privacy, security, and quality requirements, including state-specific regulations.

Establish processes to ensure staff licensed in multiple states meet each state's requirements and regulations.

Participate in hospital accreditation and licensing activities related to the department.

Assess program growth needs and make recommendations regarding staffing, technology, and operational resources necessary to support expansion.

Lead patient engagement, communication, marketing, and education strategies related to telehealth services and patient-facing technologies.

Establish metrics to support continued and ongoing growth of telehealth services and program. Metrics should include patient and clinician satisfaction, patient progress through measurable goals, and fiscal viability of services and program inclusive of insurance reimbursement outcomes. Metrics should be regularly analyzed to understand best practices in telehealth and make recommendations on strategic growth.

Maintain a clinical practice presence, which may include telehealth patient care activities, to inform program design, workflow improvements, and technology implementation.

Serve as a liaison between the physician/nurse practitioners and the outpatient telehealth providers to facilitate a coordinated approach to telehealth services.

Plan and develop educational in-services for telehealth users as appropriate.

Maintain daily operational needs within budget, monitoring productivity numbers, aligning appropriate therapist with outpatients to match needs and required skills.

Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability, and program growth.
Clinical Informatics & Digital Health Innovation

Collaborate with IT, clinical, and operational leaders to implement and optimize digital health solutions, including artificial intelligence and patient engagement technologies.

Lead initiatives to improve data capture, interoperability, workflow standardization, clinical documentation, and reporting capabilities.

Inform and prioritize opportunities to optimize EHR design, documentation tools, clinical workflows, reporting functionality, and performance dashboards to support remote clinical care delivery.

Serve as a clinical and operational subject matter expert for telehealth, digital health, and virtual care delivery models.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Partner with health information management and billing teams to maintain understanding of most up to date therapy charging and coding mandates for outpatient services with specific knowledge of telehealth requirements; updating policies, handouts and process accordingly; in-servicing staff for timely compliance.

Collaborate with IT teams regarding technology procurement, implementation, cybersecurity, data governance, system integrations, and operational support.

Work closely with Clinical and Operations leaders to develop and communicate workflow changes, standard operating procedures, and patient-facing communication strategies.

Partner with Quality, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal teams to address regulatory, privacy, and patient safety considerations.

Collaborate with vendors and external stakeholders to expand strategic partnerships and enhance patient care.

Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop, maintain, and expand telehealth services and internal processes that remain consistent with the mission and values of Craig Hospital.

Work closely with inpatient and outpatient therapy leadership to flex staff as needed to respond to ever changing outpatient and inpatient census needs.
