This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bilingual Field Technology Consultant based in Canada.
This remote role provides technology support and guidance to independent financial advisors across Quebec and Atlantic Canada. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor-facing resource for escalated technology issues, helping users resolve challenges and make effective use of approved tools and services. The position combines hands-on technical support, coaching, stakeholder coordination, and practical guidance on cybersecurity, data management, and technology risk. You’ll work closely with internal support teams to coordinate complex issues and minimize business disruption. The role also supports new advisors, transitioning practices, and technology-related business changes when needed. Strong communication in both English and French is essential, as you’ll support users with a wide range of technical experience across Eastern Canada.
- Support independent financial advisors with escalated technology issues by assessing problems, determining appropriate next steps, coordinating internal support, and guiding issues through resolution.
- Provide direct technical assistance for issues that fall within the role’s scope and expertise.
- Act as a liaison between advisors and internal technology support teams, ensuring issues progress efficiently while communicating recurring challenges and pain points.
- Help advisors understand, adopt, and effectively use approved technology platforms, services, workflows, and support resources.
- Deliver tailored one-on-one coaching to advisors with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Create and maintain advisor-facing job aids, guidance materials, and practical technology resources.
- Provide guidance on technology standards, cybersecurity, data handling, technology risk, and the evaluation of technology products and services within approved frameworks.
- Support new advisors and transitioning practices with technology setup, access, and readiness activities in collaboration with internal teams.
- Contribute to technology-related business initiatives such as branch openings, relocations, renovations, and similar projects as a secondary responsibility.
- Balance responsive advisor support with applicable technology policies, standards, security requirements, and risk considerations.
- Travel within the Eastern region as required to support advisors and business activities.
- At least 5 years of experience in technology support, field support, advisor support, client-facing IT, or a similar technology-focused role.
- Strong understanding of end-user technology environments, including devices, peripherals, Microsoft 365 applications, connectivity fundamentals, and common business technology challenges.
- Proven ability to assess technical issues, triage support requirements, and coordinate resolution across multiple teams.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related productivity and collaboration tools.
- Excellent ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically to non-technical users.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Fully bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients across multiple Canadian provinces.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to establish trust and credibility with financial advisors and other stakeholders.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly when determining the appropriate resolution path and engaging internal technical experts.
- Highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a primarily reactive support environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to balance client needs with organizational policies, technology standards, cybersecurity requirements, and risk considerations.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Eastern Canada when required.
- Experience in financial services or supporting independent financial advisors is an asset.
- Salary range of CAD $88,800–$138,800, depending on location, qualifications, experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
