This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Operational Excellence & Strategic Programs (PMO) based in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic and analytical professional passionate about driving operational transformation within the healthcare industry. The role focuses on identifying performance gaps, leading complex initiatives, and translating business objectives into measurable operational outcomes. Working across multiple stakeholders and functions, you will play a key role in improving efficiency, strengthening execution, and recovering at-risk client engagements. This position combines strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving, requiring both strong analytical capabilities and exceptional leadership skills. You will help shape scalable solutions that create lasting improvements while influencing senior leaders and operational teams. Accountabilities:
  • Lead operational assessments to uncover root causes of performance challenges, using structured analytical frameworks and data-driven methodologies.
  • Develop and execute strategic project plans, defining priorities, timelines, resource requirements, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Direct and oversee complex transformation programs, ensuring alignment between organizational goals and operational execution.
  • Manage recovery initiatives for underperforming or at-risk client accounts, establishing performance monitoring processes and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and sustain scalable operational improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, business leaders, and key stakeholders to drive alignment, influence decision-making, and support change management efforts.
  • Monitor and improve key operational and financial performance indicators, including productivity, revenue capture, and portfolio health.
  • Ensure rigorous project governance, accountability, and successful delivery of strategic workstreams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare-focused business analysis, management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related disciplines.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, business valuation, operational analytics, and performance measurement.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, payer-provider relationships, industry regulations, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems using structured frameworks and quantitative analysis.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional programs and driving operational improvements in high-stakes environments.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and change leadership skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, execution discipline, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel quarterly for corporate meetings and business needs.
