Director, Payer Marketing

This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and communicate a compelling payer strategy within a highly innovative healthcare environment. You will be responsible for developing the narratives and market positioning that connect clinical value, economic impact, and operational excellence into a cohesive story for payer audiences. Working closely with executive leaders and cross-functional teams, you will influence go-to-market initiatives, strategic partnerships, and market perception. The position combines healthcare expertise, strategic thinking, and executive-level communication skills to drive alignment across commercial, clinical, and product functions. Ideal for a seasoned healthcare marketing professional, this role provides significant visibility and impact in shaping how complex healthcare solutions are understood and adopted across the payer landscape.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, own, and continuously refine the organization's strategic payer narrative, ensuring alignment with business priorities and market opportunities.
  • Establish and communicate a differentiated value proposition that integrates clinical outcomes, economic benefits, and operational capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary architect of payer-focused messaging across product, portfolio, and enterprise-level strategies.
  • Translate healthcare industry trends, market dynamics, and strategic objectives into compelling narratives for payer stakeholders.
  • Partner with commercial and field teams to convert payer strategy into practical messaging, tools, and enablement resources that support customer engagement.
  • Guide thought leadership initiatives and external payer communications, strengthening market awareness and organizational credibility.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to communicate strategic vision, competitive differentiation, and business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and alignment across marketing, sales, payer strategy, health economics, customer experience, medical affairs, and product teams.
  • Ensure consistent integration of payer-focused messaging into brand strategies, go-to-market plans, and customer engagement programs.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, teamwork, inclusion, and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Technology, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare sales, payer account management, payer marketing, or related healthcare commercial functions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams, strategic initiatives, or cross-functional programs.
  • Deep understanding of payer organizations, healthcare economics, reimbursement models, and healthcare market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic narratives and value propositions that resonate with payer audiences and executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, presentation, and executive engagement skills.
  • Experience translating complex business, clinical, and operational information into persuasive market-facing messaging.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as required.
