Field Installation Supervisor – Architectural & Structural Metals
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Starting at $32.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Territory: Candidates should reside within commuting distance of Georgetown, DE, Sterling, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Washington, DC

We are seeking an experienced Field Installation Supervisor to lead crews responsible for the installation of custom metal systems, including stair assemblies, railings, and other fabricated metal components. This leadership role requires a hands-on professional who can coordinate field operations, maintain project schedules, and ensure work is completed safely and according to specifications.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary on-site leader, working closely with project teams, contractors, and installation personnel to deliver high-quality results on commercial and industrial job sites.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily installation activities involving stairs, railings, and miscellaneous fabricated metal products.
- Lead field personnel by assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and ensuring workmanship meets project standards.
- Coordinate site activities with general contractors, project managers, and other trades.
- Review construction drawings and project specifications to ensure accurate field layout and installation.
- Plan labor, materials, tools, and equipment requirements to support efficient project execution.
- Verify crew qualifications, certifications, and adherence to job-site requirements.
- Complete daily project documentation, including field reports, equipment inspections, and vehicle inspections.
- Monitor company tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and accountability.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular site inspections, hazard awareness, and compliance with established procedures.
- Conduct and document toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Serve as the primary field contact for installation-related issues and problem resolution.
- Minimum of five years of experience working within the miscellaneous metals, structural metals, or architectural metals industry preferred.
- Prior experience leading crews, coordinating field operations, or serving in a foreman/supervisory capacity strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and safety-related documentation.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate measurements, layouts, angles, and degrees.
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and industry welding practices.
- Experience with welding processes including:
- SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
- FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
- GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
- GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
- Current welding certifications or the ability to successfully complete a weld qualification test.
