Job Description
Carroll County Coop – Wytheville Branch is looking for a CDL Driver Applicator/Warehouse. This position will prepare and spread custom application of agronomy products on customers' fields, including fertilizer, crop protectants, lime and other treatment products. This position also assists with various warehouse and facility operations. This person represents the Coop in a professional manner to customers. This person will strictly adhere to government regulations and Coop operating procedures while working independently.
The ideal candidate will have 1+ years CDL experience, have knowledge of the agricultural industry and related products, and be outgoing and friendly with integrity.
Requirements:Essential Job Functions
- Prepare custom application of fertilizer, crop protectants and other treatment products according to customer work order. Transfer bulk products into bulk spreading vehicles. Handle, lift, load equipment and operate controls.
- Effectively operate bulk spreading. Apply fertilizer, crop protectants and other treatment products to customers' fields. Ensure complete coverage to designated areas. Check equipment for proper application and spread pattern and make corrections as needed.
- Receive merchandise deliveries at facility warehouse and lot according to established procedures. Unload merchandise in various forms including pallets, boxes, bulk, and/or large items utilizing proper equipment (forklift, front-end loader, skid loader, pallet jack, etc.) and manual lifting as appropriate. Count and verify accuracy of delivery by comparing to purchase orders and reviewing shipping documents. Inspect items for damage or defects.
- Properly utilize and maintain equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repair to keep equipment in good working condition. Advise supervisor of complex equipment issues to ensure timely repair or replacement. Maintain up-to-date maintenance records for equipment and vehicle.
- Works safely as to not cause harm to self, customers, co-workers, equipment or inventory. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Operate all equipment and vehicles according to Coop policy and government regulations.
- May be required to drive delivery routes for feed and farm supplies or work in feed mill as determined by business need.
- Performs all other job functions as assigned.
- Pay based on experience. Pay range $17.00-$23.00 per hour.
