Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner
Reports to: Manager of Human Resources
Based at: Greenhill Produce (Thamesville) Ltd., Kent Bridge, ON & Hacienda North Farms Inc., Wheatly, ON
Type of Employment: Full-Time, permanent, 5 days a week; and some additional hours which may include Saturdays, depending on workload and priorities.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a crucial role in providing administrative support, maintaining efficient operations within the greenhouse facility, and assisting with various HR functions. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The HRBP will be assigned to a business unit(s) within the Mucci Group of companies.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain strong, trusted working relationships with employees, supervisors, leads, and operational leaders, serving as a primary HR business partner through regular one-on-one meetings and day-to-day consultation
- Partner with key leaders to understand operational priorities, workforce challenges, employee concerns, and business needs, providing proactive, practical HR solutions
- Coach and support leaders in the consistent and fair application of HR policies, practices, and employment standards
- Develop, maintain, and analyze HR metrics and KPIs, including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment activity, vacancies, and employee relations matters, and provide insights to support informed business decisions
- Assist with the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, forms, and internal processes
- Support internal and external HR, employment, and social compliance audits by preparing required documentation, coordinating responses, addressing findings, and monitoring corrective actions through completion
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment legislation, company policies, and HR program requirements, and provide guidance to leaders on legislative and policy requirements
Employee Relations, Performance & Discipline
- Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations matters and provide guidance to leaders on resolving workplace concerns
- Lead and/or support employee relations investigations, including workplace conduct, harassment, workplace violence, attendance, performance, policy violations, and other employee complaints
- Manage and support progressive discipline processes, including coaching, written warnings, suspensions, performance improvement plans, and other corrective action
- Review disciplinary action with managers and supervisors prior to delivery and participate in disciplinary and termination meetings as required
- Provide guidance and recommendations regarding employment decisions, including hiring, re-hiring, contract extensions, transfers, promotions, demotions, and termination of employment
- Administer the performance management process, including performance review tracking, documentation, distribution of forms, and follow-up with leaders
- Administer the attendance management program and support leaders with attendance-related concerns and documentation
Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding
- Participate in capacity, workforce planning, and operational meetings to understand current and future labour requirements
- Coach hiring managers on recruitment practices, interview techniques, candidate selection, and employment decisions
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring new hires successfully complete all required processes, documentation, and HRIS setup
Benefits & HR Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs, including new employee enrollments, changes, terminations, eligibility administration, and employee inquiries
- Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate corrections as required
- Oversee the organization’s employee apparel, workwear, and related program requirements, including inventory, distribution, employee requests, and ongoing administration
- Support the planning and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and HR programs
Time, Attendance & Payroll Support
- Support the administration of time and attendance systems for the hourly workforce
- Assist leaders with attendance, timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll-related questions and issues
- Work collaboratively with payroll and operational leaders to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
WSIB & Return to Work
- Manage and coordinate WSIB claims
- Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate return-to-work and accommodation plans in partnership with employees, and leaders
HR Systems & Reporting
- Optimize HR processes and HRIS systems to support effective workflows and utilization of resources
- Assist with corporate HR reporting, including required metrics and organizational chart updates
- Identify and support HR best practices that facilitate growth and maintain a positive work culture
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- University/College diploma or certificate in Human Resources is preferred
- Knowledge of all HR related legislative requirements: Ministry of Labour, WSIB, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and to reprioritize tasks on a daily basis
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent documentation, communication, computer and time management skills
Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
- Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
- Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
- Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F to 21-31°C (70-86°F)
Compensation: $63,000 - $74,000 annually, onsite parking, and other company benefits.
Job Requirements: The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example. A positive attitude in the workplace is required as is the ability to adhere to all human resources, operational, food and health safety policies and procedures.
