OmniOn Power is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Datacenter Power Systems Development team. This role is responsible for the design, development, analysis, and validation of next-generation power solutions supporting AI, datacenter, OCP, and HVDC applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in power electronics packaging, mechanical design, thermal management, and product development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality power system products from concept through production.

The successful candidate will lead mechanical design efforts, perform thermal analysis and testing, develop detailed CAD models and engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions. Experience with sheet metal, cable, PCB, and plastic design, DFM principles, and proficiency in Creo (Pro-Engineer) are essential. A strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, product validation, and data center power architectures is also highly desirable.

You will play a key role in developing cutting-edge power technologies that enable the next generation of AI, datacenter, and telecom infrastructure.

This role will report directly to the R&D Systems Manager and be located at OmniOn Power's HQ in Plano, TXKey Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of datacenter power systems, including AI, OCP, and HVDC power solutions.
• Develop new products from concept through production, including mechanical architecture, thermal analysis, simulation, testing, and characterization.
• Perform thermal management analysis and validation to ensure optimal product performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and engineering documentation using Creo (Pro-Engineer).
• Generate electronic data models to support engineering analysis, tooling, fixtures, manufacturing, and quality inspections.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, systems engineering, and global engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, manufacturability, and time-to-market objectives.
• Support the implementation of innovative technologies and design improvements within power system products.
• Participate in product validation, root cause analysis, and resolution of design-related issues.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical design and product development of power systems or power supply products.

Desired Characteristics

• Solid understanding of AI infrastructure power requirements, including OCP and HVDC systems.
• Experience with thermal management, testing, and design validation.
• Proficiency with Creo (Pro-Engineer) CAD software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Expertise in power electronics packaging design.
• Experience with sheet metal, cable, PCB, and plastic component design.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Familiarity with data center power system architectures and products.
• Experience with thermal simulation and engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and associated product testing.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success developing products that perform well in the marketplace.
