Paint Department Assistant Superintendent – 2nd Shift in JOHNSON CREEK, Wisconsin at Mastermold LLC

MasterMold is looking for a driven, hands-on leader to join our Johnson Creek Paint Department as an Assistant Superintendent.

For this position, drive matters. Manufacturing or paint experience is valuable, but it isn't everything. If you are motivated, willing to learn, comfortable taking ownership, and capable of leading people and holding yourself and others accountable, we are willing to teach you our processes.

This is not a desk-only leadership position. You will be actively involved in daily operations and work closely with supervisors, leads, engineers, material handlers, and operators to keep production moving safely, efficiently, and according to quality expectations.

We are looking for someone who sees a problem and works toward a solution, follows through on commitments, communicates effectively, and wants to learn the operation from the ground up.

As the Assistant Superintendent, you will support the Paint Superintendent in the overall operation and leadership of the Paint Department. Your responsibilities will include:

• Help oversee and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Coordinate personnel, materials, and production priorities to meet operational needs.
• Provide leadership and direction to Paint Supervisors, Leads, Engineers, Material Handlers, and Operators.
• Ensure production schedules and priorities are communicated, understood, and executed.
• Monitor quality, safety, production, and work standards throughout the department.
• Identify production or quality concerns and take appropriate action to address them.
• Coach, guide, train, and develop employees and frontline leaders.
• Address employee performance and conduct concerns appropriately and consistently.
• Partner with Human Resources when coaching or corrective action is necessary.
• Ensure production reports, employee documentation, and other required reporting are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure employee issues addressed by you or members of the management team are properly documented.
• Assist with inventory control of supplies, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Support and drive World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives throughout the Paint Department.
• Maintain strong 6S, safety, and housekeeping practices.
• Work closely with Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to support safe and efficient operations.
• Work with the team to complete Safety Environmental Work Orders (SEWOs) in a timely manner and continuously identify opportunities to improve employee safety and well-being.
• Interact professionally with customers and suppliers as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Previous manufacturing, paint, or production leadership experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong leadership potential, initiative, accountability, and the drive to learn.

This position is primarily assigned to 2nd shift, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM at our Johnson Creek facility.

As a salaried leadership position supporting production operations, flexibility is required. There may be times when you will need to work outside your regular schedule, including other shifts or additional days, based on production demands, staffing, training, projects, or other business needs.

You are not expected to know everything on day one. What we do expect is the drive to learn it.

Success in this role means learning the operation, building credibility with your team, supporting and developing frontline leaders, taking ownership of problems, and following through until they are resolved.

You will help create consistency and accountability throughout the Paint Department while bringing Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and Human Resources together toward common goals.
