Facilities Assistant in Olney, Maryland at Olney Theatre Corporation

Olney Theatre Center is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Assistant to support weekend maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operation of our campus and performance facilities.

The Facilities Assistant will work closely with the General Management team to help ensure that buildings, public spaces, offices, backstage areas, and outdoor areas are clean, safe, functional, and ready for staff, artists, audiences, and community members. This is an active position well suited to someone who enjoys varied work, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming environment, and can work independently while also being a strong team member. This position will require weekend availability, including evenings.

The Facilities Assistant is a part-time, non-exempt position compensated at an hourly rate of $32.50. The position is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

This is a part-time position requiring an anticipated commitment of approximately 16–20 hours per week, with regular workdays scheduled Wednesday through Sunday. The schedule is subject to change based on performances, events, facility operations, and seasonal demands. Due to the nature of the position, flexibility is essential, and candidates must be available to work weekends, including evenings, and be on-call as needed.
