Job Description
Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Construction Foreman to provide day-to-day field leadership for petroleum and fuel-related construction projects. This position plays an important role in coordinating crews, materials, equipment, deliveries, schedules, and skilled trades to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Additional Information:
The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional who can lead a crew, communicate effectively, identify and resolve field issues, and ensure work is completed according to project requirements and company quality and safety standards. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Petroleum Construction Manager.
What You'll Do
Field Leadership & Project Coordination
• Supervise daily petroleum and fuel-related construction activities and provide clear direction to assigned crew members.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and communicate expected completion timelines.
• Maintain and communicate daily project schedules and identify potential delays or resource needs.
• Coordinate the sequencing of work, deliveries, equipment, materials, and skilled trades to support efficient project completion.
• Confirm required materials and equipment are ordered, scheduled, and available when needed.
• Identify field challenges and coordinate timely solutions or escalate issues when appropriate.
Quality, Safety & Jobsite Oversight
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality expectations, project requirements, and applicable specifications.
• Identify jobsite hazards and take appropriate action to correct, control, or escalate unsafe conditions.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and ensure crew members follow applicable company safety, quality, environmental, and jobsite requirements.
• Help ensure projects are completed accurately, safely, on schedule, and to established standards.
• Maintain professional working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, other trades, and company employees.
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, contractors, and other business partners.
• Report hazards, incidents, delays, and other project concerns promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five (5) or more years of directly related construction experience is required.
• Petroleum or fuel-related construction experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead construction crews and coordinate field activities from start to completion.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, jobsite coordination, and scheduling.
• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company policy.
• CDL Class A is preferred, where applicable to assigned duties.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing field conditions, schedules, customer needs, and project requirements.
• Dependable, professional, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive jobsite.
• Ability to successfully complete job-related pre-employment screening required by company policy, including drug testing when applicable and permitted by law.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is primarily based at construction and customer sites and may require extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions. The work environment may include exposure to dust, fumes, high noise levels, uneven terrain, moving equipment, and active construction operations. The position may require lifting equipment or materials weighing up to approximately 60 pounds and pushing or pulling up to approximately 75 pounds. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
