The Position:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Aircraft Mechanic II to maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate complexity. In this role, you will apply comprehensive technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore aircraft to optimal operational condition. Acting as a key technical resource, you will interpret manufacturing manuals and technical blueprints to solve complex mechanical problems, occasionally leading small teams through complex aviation tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform moderate-to-complex structural and sheet metal modifications and repairs.
- Apply airframe and powerplant systems knowledge to isolate malfunctions, determine root causes, and execute restorative actions.
- Interpret and utilize technical publications, manufacturers' manuals, and blueprints; make accurate, timely entries in official aircraft logs and maintenance records.
- Work under technical supervision from higher-level technicians or supervisors while occasionally stepping up to lead teams through advanced maintenance tasks.
- Effectively prioritize personal and team workloads to meet strict project schedules and operational deadlines.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement.
- Broad, hands-on knowledge of aircraft sheet metal fabrication, structural modifications, and specialized repair techniques.
- Basic working knowledge of electrical theory and strong familiarity with standard technical aviation publications.
- Mastery of aircraft-unique tools and equipment, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
