Anesthesiologist

NOTICE

American Medical Health Group PA is seeking to employ one H-1B nonimmigrant in the occupational classification of Physician - Anesthesiology at a salary of $125,000.00 for the period from 08/15/2026 to 08/14/2029 at the location of St. Anthony Hospital, 2875 West 19th Street, Chicago, IL 60623. The labor condition application is available for public inspection at the same address. Position Purpose: Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in collaboration and consultation with surgeons and other medical professionals for patient care services, including but not limited to surgery, perinatal services, and emergency response.

Essential Functions
  1. Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
    1. Anesthesia equipment and supplies are prepared appropriately for procedures.
    2. Evaluates the patient pre-operatively by interviewing and examining the patient; assesses data and selects appropriate anesthetic.
    3. Procedural consent is verified prior to each procedure.
    4. Patient specific anesthesia plan of care is formulated from the pre-surgical assessment.
  2. Implements, monitors and adjusts patients’ physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patient’s needs.
  3. Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
    1. Report and completed documentation are provided upon transfer of the patient from intra-operative to post-operative care provider.
    2. Acute and chronic post-operative pain management modalities are implemented.
    3. Medications, fluids, and ventilator support are selected and ordered to facilitate recovery from anesthesia.
    4. The patient is discharged from the post-anesthesia care unit and provided with post-anesthesia follow-up, evaluation, and care.
  4. Must discuss and review anesthesia plan with CRNAs and remain physically present on the premises during delivery of anesthesia services.
  5. Participates in additional areas of responsibility, which are within the expertise of the individual Anesthesiologist, for example, responding to cardiac arrests and elective intubations.
  6. Ensures appropriate documentation to sufficiently charge for services rendered.

  • Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
  • Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
  • Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.
  • Maintains educational requirements for licensure and certification.

General Job Requirements (List any required knowledge, skills, experiences or training, including length of time necessary for proficiency, required to perform the job.)

  • Basic education of M.D., D.O. or equivalent medical degree
  • Holds current unrestricted physician and surgeon license in the State of Illinois.
  • Holds current DEA license and Controlled Substance in the State of Illinois.
  • Successfully completed a residency program of Anesthesiology approved by ACGME or its equivalent.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate that he or she has performed at least 50 anesthetic procedures during the past 24 months.
  • Become privileged and credentialed by the Medical Staff in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and remain in good standing.
  • ACLS Certified
  • CPR Certified

Machines, tools, equipment and work aids required: General office equipment; Other Equipment Includes: Anesthesia carts, anesthesia machines, infusion pumps, and other patient care equipment.
