Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst based in the United States.

This is a senior analytical role focused on designing, administering, and continuously improving sales compensation programs that drive effective revenue behaviors.
You’ll combine financial modeling, data analysis, systems administration, and business partnership to ensure compensation plans are accurate, competitive, and aligned with organizational goals.
The role has broad visibility across Sales, Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, and senior leadership.
You’ll own recurring payout processes while also contributing to plan design, forecasting, incentive modeling, and strategic compensation initiatives.
Your work will directly influence sales performance, incentive effectiveness, payout accuracy, and the organization’s ability to make data-driven decisions.
This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented compensation professional to improve processes, automate workflows, and bring greater transparency to complex incentive programs.
The position is fully remote, with Dallas identified as a preferred location.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, document, and continuously improve sales compensation plans, commission rules, quota structures, accelerators, and special incentive programs in alignment with business objectives.
  • Build detailed compensation models, simulations, and scenario analyses to assess plan outcomes, financial impacts, and expected business performance.
  • Configure, test, and administer compensation plans within commission platforms and CRM/ERP integrations, supporting accurate monthly and quarterly calculations, payouts, and recoupments.
  • Reconcile commission results against bookings, revenue, payroll, and other financial data while investigating discrepancies and leading root-cause analysis for variances and disputes.
  • Develop recurring leadership reporting and dashboards covering payout projections, plan-cost forecasts, attainment, incentive performance, and ROI.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for sales compensation questions, preparing clear compensation statements and communications for plan participants.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, Payroll, and other stakeholders to maintain data integrity, support compliance, and ensure smooth and accurate payout processes.
  • Lead or contribute to compensation plan-change communications, sales enablement activities, and training for sales leaders and representatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of compensation plans, business rules, system configurations, and Architecture Decision Records to support governance and auditability.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline compensation processes, improving accuracy, efficiency, transparency, and cycle times.
  • Support strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, territory and quota redesigns, new incentive proposals, and ad hoc business analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation, incentive design, sales operations, Sales Finance, or a comparable analytical function.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, financial modeling, and complex data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and at least one sales compensation, commission, or payroll system.
  • Strong understanding of compensation processes and the ability to manage recurring payout cycles with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex compensation rules clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a time-sensitive operating environment.
  • Experience with incentive platforms such as Xactly, Anaplan, SAP Commissions, Callidus/Commissions, or similar solutions is preferred.
  • SQL and data manipulation experience, along with familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, is advantageous.
  • Background in SaaS or technology sales compensation, quota setting, territory management, or related commercial operations is a plus.
  • Additional certifications in compensation, finance, or data analytics are valued; an MBA, relevant master’s degree, CPA, or CMA is also advantageous.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Workday, ADP, Oracle, NetSuite, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365 is beneficial.
Benefits:
  • Annual base salary: $79,615.38–$100,384.61 USD, with individual compensation determined by location, skills, experience, certifications, licenses, and other relevant factors.
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus or commission program, depending on the nature of the position.
  • Fully remote work opportunity, with Dallas identified as a preferred location.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • Corporate fitness program.
  • A range of voluntary benefits, including legal plans, accident and hospital indemnity coverage, pet insurance, and additional options.
  • An inclusive workplace focused on belonging, collaboration, respect, and equal opportunity.
  • Opportunities to contribute to a technology-driven environment while developing expertise across sales compensation, analytics, systems, and business operations.
