This is an entry level position into industrial radiographic test inspection to serve as a Boundary Monitor. The primary function of this role is to prevent access into the radiography restricted area while radiography operations are being conducted and provide verification of radiation measurements at the restricted area boundary to the Radiographer-in-Charge (RIC).
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Securing, monitoring, and surveying work areas as radiographic testing is being conducted
- Working in confined spaces, at heights, carrying up to fifty pounds, climbing, stooping and working in inclement weather
- Must demonstrate competency in understanding Electric Boat procedures
Location and schedule:
- This is a THIRD shift position based at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI
- Based on the project schedule, willingness to work extended hours or weekend overtime is required

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to work all shifts, at heights, in confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
- Applicant must be able to interpret shipyard procedures
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Semi-advanced mathematical skills
- Based on the project schedule, willingness to work extended hours or weekend overtime
- Individuals may be required to possess their own basic hand tools
- Qualified applicants will need to successfully complete a pre-employment radiation worker physical and attend and pass a Radiation Safety class
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the DoD
Preferred:
- Related commercial, Military/Navy radiography and/or shipbuilding experience
- Experience in NDT
- Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice program
