Job Description
We are looking for CNAs or experienced Caregivers to provide one-on-one non-medical care for a single client in Ames, Ia. This is a consistent role free of the stress of a facility workload. The client will need assistance with grooming, dressing and meal preparation. The client will need assistance with transferring and turning during the overnight hours. The client will attend Iowa State University beginning in fall 2026 so will need assistance getting to and from classes.
Both full time and part time opportunities are available, dependent upon availability. Overnight and weekend incentives offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.
2. Performs personal care, bath and hands-on care as assigned.
3. Completes appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per Agency policy.
4. Reports changes in the patient’s condition and needs.
5. Performs household services essential to care as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must have reliable vehicle to transport client, valid driver's license and proof of car insurance.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months previous caregiver experience.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff.
- Must comply with agency policies, infection control standards, and required training.
- CNA experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Forward bend, trunk rotation, kneeling/crouching to reach objects on the floor, underneath a bed, wheelchair legs
- Client transfer, client repositioning, bed mobility, light housekeeping, walking.
- Lifting and moving various equipment, client personal items.
- Able to lift 25 lbs. and utilize transferring equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit to stands, etc.

- Treat clients and their property with dignity, kindness, and respect
- Communicate with clients, family, and staff in a professional, friendly manner
- Follow verbal and written instructions, as well as document services provided
- Function independently in a home setting with minimal supervision
- Comply with client privacy, confidentiality, and HIPPA Standards
- Follow Mandated Reporter of Abuse and Neglect Laws
