Job Description
Summary: Lead Senior buyer will manage a clinical category in buying, strategic sourcing, replenishment, contract, and cost improvements. The Lead Senior buyer will be the leader of all contracts, capital, and conversions to support the director on all initiatives. This position will be the liaison for all communications with Prospect Medical. In addition, lead local sourcing of new items and services. Buying/supply chain leader in new buying, capital, and contract systems.
Education: 4 year college business degree
Licensure: N/A
Experience: 10-20 years’ experience as a buyer in healthcare/or relative supply chain experience and relevant. 5-10 years in the healthcare industry. APIC or other supply chain qualifications preferred but not required.
Skills and Abilities: Familiar with acceptable supply chain and buying procedures.
Advanced excel, Microsoft office, and system skills. Knowledge and ability of Meditech or equivalent buying system. Good communication and analytical skills required. Maintains information confidential (HIPAA). Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to utilize responsive customer service skills and sense of urgency. Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams. Minimal supervisions with motivation and self-direction to attain daily and annual tactical and strategic goals.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles. Advanced system skills such as excel or the buying system. Pursuing additional college classes or master’s degree.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Physical ability including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing, walking and reaching. Physical ability involves lifting more than 10 lbs.
