ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SUSTAINABILITY (EHS&S) COORDINATOR
OVERVIEW
The Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) Coordinator supports the Global Director of Quality in a team-contributor role to lead Rochester Sensors Dallas' overall EHS&S compliance requirements. The EHS&S role ensures the plant's products, processes, and documentation meet the company's and customers' ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements, and EHS&S governmental regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the implementation, compliance, monitoring, auditing, change management, and reporting of the following, not limited to:
- Lead and maintain the Health & Safety Management System, including policies, procedures, and compliance programs
- Oversee incident investigations, emergency response programs, and OSHA reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with chemical safety, hazardous waste handling, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and machine safeguarding standards
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), enforce PPE use, and manage industrial hygiene and ergonomics initiatives
- Administer safety programs for powered industrial trucks, contractors, and visitors
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to promote a safe work environment
- Ensure compliance with specialized safety requirements
- Manage ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, including policies, procedures, and audits
- Oversee environmental programs related to waste (solid and hazardous), water/wastewater, and air emissions
- Ensure regulatory compliance, reporting, inspections, and risk mitigation
- Support ESG and sustainability initiatives, including SDRS reporting and resource conservation efforts
- Promote social responsibility through community engagement, charitable initiatives, and corporate sustainability programs
- Support product and supplier compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, TSCA) in collaboration with Quality and Supply Chain
- Contribute to Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) initiatives and new product introduction (NPI) compliance
- Lead internal and external audits, including third-party certification readiness and corrective action closure
- Conduct management reviews and site audits to ensure continuous improvement
- Implement corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Global Director of Quality
- 1-3 years of experience in EHS, Sustainability, or a related role in a manufacturing or regulated environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental and safety regulations
- Experience supporting EHS programs, audits, incident investigations, and compliance activities
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and audit participation
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, and leadership teams
- Experience with safety training, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to sustainability efforts (e.g., waste, energy, or emissions management)
- Strong organizational, documentation, and data analysis skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation experience.
- Certified in Certified Hazardous Materials, Certified Safety Professional, or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
