340B Specialist
Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center (HICHC)
Department: 340B Program Administration & Compliance
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center is seeking a 340B Specialist to support day-to-day operations of the 340B Program. This entry-level pharmacy role focuses on procurement, inventory management, and compliance activities while ensuring adherence to 340B Program regulations and organizational protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Support 340B program operations to ensure compliance with federal and organizational guidelines
- Assist with medication procurement, inventory tracking, and supply distribution across clinic locations
- Coordinate deliveries, verify tracking, and communicate with patients and clinic staff
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct physical counts, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate, auditable records (invoices, usage reports, inventory systems)
- Ensure medications are stored and handled in accordance with safety and compliance standards
- Participate in audits to ensure 340B compliance and prevent diversion or duplicate discounts
- Provide cross-coverage support within pharmacy services as needed
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain Hawaiʻi Pharmacy Technician registration within 90 days of hire
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
- Experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of 340B Program, HRSA guidelines, or pharmacy inventory systems
- Experience with procurement, inventory management, or data analysis
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Completion of 340B University training within 3 months of hire
- Valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Ability to travel island-wide for deliveries and clinic support
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze inventory data and resolve discrepancies
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance
- Clinic and office-based setting with occasional travel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical inventory tasks
- Exposure to typical healthcare environment conditions
- Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) with flexibility based on operational needs
