Job Description
Job Title: Merchandise & E-Commerce Specialist
Location: Long Beach, CA (Part-Time; Onsite)
Estimated Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per month (with higher concentration around quarterly launches)
Salary Range: $25-$30 hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
E-Commerce & Store Operations ManagementStore Ownership: Manage all day-to-day aspects of the FAI Store, ensuring all imagery, product descriptions, pricing, and overall merchandising are polished, professional, and up to date.
Vendor & Fulfillment Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for production, printing, inventory, and fulfillment partners.
Product Lifecycle: Continuously evaluate store offerings to phase out stale products while introducing new apparel, lifestyle items, patient/remission merchandise, and limited-edition concepts.
Analytics & Reporting: Track key performance indicators and provide Marketing with regular updates on store sales, top-performing items, inventory levels, and upcoming product drops.
Brand Elevation: Drive the creative vision to elevate FAI merchandise into an intentional lifestyle brand aligned with FAI messaging and brand standards.
Quarterly Drop Calendar: Develop and execute an annual product calendar featuring approximately four major seasonal drops or creative refreshes per year.
Roster & Creative Management: Direct and coordinate a rotating bench of freelance apparel designers, graphic artists, illustrators, and photographers to keep product offerings fresh without overloading internal resources.
Qualifications:
E-Commerce Expertise: Proven experience running or managing an online store (e.g., Shopify or similar platforms).
Merchandising & Product Development: Experience in apparel/lifestyle merchandise production, product sourcing, and vendor coordination.
Creative Direction: Strong aesthetic sense with experience guiding freelance creative talent (designers, illustrators, photographers) from concept to execution.
Project & Time Management: Highly organized self-starter comfortable managing an asynchronous, flexible schedule around key product launch deadlines.
Data-Informed Thinking: Ability to interpret inventory and sales data to inform product decisions and inventory planning.
