Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient centered care in the perioperative arena. Under the supervision of the perioperative staff, the support staff demonstrates knowledge, skills, and behaviors to maintain a consistent level of practice. Performs assigned delegated tasks from the perioperative staff. Provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and perioperative staff throughout the continuum. Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, or pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development through teamwork training and continuing education.
