Position Summary:
KidsPeace has immediate openings for the Mental Health Technician position at our Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Orefield, PA.
The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in providing direct supervision, guidance, and support to emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth. This role requires a steadfast commitment to safety and daily awareness of all developments impacting the children in your care. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to distinguish discipline from punishment, recognize underlying needs beneath behavior, and build trusting, supportive relationships that set the foundation for individualized treatment and unit programming.
Available Shifts: FT and PT
- Day: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Middle: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Overnight: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Some weekends required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health or related field preferred
- Experience working with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required
- SCM and CPR/First Aid certification required (provided internally after hire)
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Basic computer skills required
