Position Summary

The Lifestyle Program Supervisor I position provides leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for the Lifestyle class and instructor program at Sun City Lincoln Hills, overseeing 25 instructors and the Orchard Creek Lodge front desk. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a high-quality portfolio of classes and workshops that meet resident needs, generate revenue, and align with Association goals.

This position partners with the Lifestyle Operations Supervisor II position to ensure consistent and adequate front desk coverage across both facilities. The Lifestyle Supervisor I position focuses on class programming, instructor workforce management, and program growth.

Key Responsibilities
*Staff Leadership
*Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise class instructors
*Provide year-end performance reviews for supervised employees
*Prepare performance improvement plans, administer discipline, and recommend termination when necessary
*Review and approve instructor and staff payroll; submit to accounting
*Ensure instructors and staff are trained in customer service, software systems, safety, and program procedures
*Assist in the oversight of Lifestyle Front Desk staff in collaboration with the Lifestyle Operations Supervisor position, including addressing real-time issues, supporting staff as needed, and ensuring all shifts are properly covered
*Attend Lifestyle Department meetings, as well as forums and meetings with SCLH residents, when needed
*Assist with, and/or attend, Lifestyle events when needed to support the department

Class and Program Oversight
*Develop and manage the Lifestyle class portfolio, ensuring a balanced and innovative offering that reflects resident interests
*Monitor participation and evaluate programs using attendance data, resident feedback, and financial performance
*Coordinate with Event and Trip Coordinator and Lifestyle Operations Supervisor to maintain a comprehensive Lifestyle calendar without duplication of services
*Maintain open communication with instructors regarding scheduling, feedback, and continuous improvement

Budget and Financial Accountability
*Develop and oversee the annual Lifestyle class budget in partnership with the Director of Lifestyle
*Track and monitor class revenue and expenses, producing monthly and annual financial reports
*Provide analysis and recommendations on class pricing, instructor compensation, and program adjustments to ensure financial sustainability
*Review to make sure that invoices are received and submitted to accounting for payment, meeting all deadlines

Strategic and Administrative Duties
*Recommend and implement policies and procedures for Lifestyle classes and programs
*Upload, test, and manage all class information in Association software (NorthStar) for registration, scheduling, sales, and tracking
*Maintain digital files including contracts, promotional materials, invoices, evaluations, and testimonials
*Collaborate with Lifestyle Coordinators and Lifestyle Supervisor II position on annual program and schedule planning

Resident Engagement
*Collect and analyze resident feedback to shape class programming.
*Attend Lifestyle Department meetings, resident forums, and community meetings as required
*Promote programs through Compass Magazine, eNews, websites, and other channels
*Coordinate Trivia Night, Mix and Mingle, and other assigned community events and programs, ensuring smooth planning, promotion, and execution

Other Duties
*Maintain CPR/AED and First Aid Certification and assist as needed in emergencies.
*Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to scheduling, communication, and reporting.

Required Qualifications
*HS Diploma or GED required
*Must be able to proficiently speak, read and write in English
*Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience required
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and NorthStar or comparable registration/POS software
*Strong skills in budget management, program evaluation, and staff training
*Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
*Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, *Education, or related field preferred
*Equivalent experience may be considered
*Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in programming, recreation, hospitality, or related fields

Physical Requirements
*Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by departmental and community needs
*Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and movement, as well as the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 35 pounds on a regular basis
*Must be able to communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms, with the ability to hear, distinguish sounds, and speak clearly so information can be exchanged with individuals of varied backgrounds and communication abilities
*Requires sufficient manual dexterity and cognitive ability to operate computers, printers, telephones, and other standard business equipment
*Position may involve extended periods of sitting or performing repetitive hand and arm movements

Work Environment
*Must be able to work constructively and professionally in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of the department's mission
*The employee may be required to participate in more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays. The employee must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances
*Performance of job duties will vary from an office environment with controlled temperatures and fluorescent lighting
