Host/Cashier in Tustin, California at Bluestone Hospitality Group

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Host, you're the first person guests see when they enter our doors! Hosts are in charge of greeting guests, making them feel welcome in our restaurant, and giving guests that first taste of Ruby Magic. Hosts also assist with To-Go orders and processes all guest checks as the cashier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet all guests with a warm welcome upon arrival.
• Seat guests and accommodate special requests.
• Manage the wait list: record guest names and number in party and provide estimated waiting time.
• Provide an exceptional To-Go experience for every Guest – from taking both phone and walk-in orders, ringing the orders in the Point of Sale system, packaging the items, cashing the guest out and ensuring all orders are on-time and accurate.
• Answer phones and manage the restaurant reservation system.
• Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Accurately processes all guest checks with no cash overages or shortages.
• Utilizes proper cash handling procedures to execute cash and non-cash transactions, counting change, security precautions, and cash accountability.
• Ensures that the cash register and cash register area are stocked with all needed items.
• Maintains cleanliness standards and stocks for the reception area and restrooms.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
• No experience necessary; however, restaurant experience a definite plus.
• A commitment to guest service that is remarkable, memorable, and fun
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Ability to carry products/boxes and miscellaneous weighing no more than 60 pounds
• Consistently operates registers
• Consistently kneel and follow proper lifting procedures
• Frequently stoop and pick up supplies and trash
• Consistently stand while serving customers and training
• Consistently communicate to and listen to fellow team members and Guests
