Position Summary:

The Firewatch Manager is responsible for overseeing Firewatch (FW) operations to ensure all assigned posts are properly staffed, compliant with client and PMI requirements, and conducted in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. This role provides leadership, coordination, quality assurance, and direct communication with clients and site supervision while promoting a strong safety-conscious work environment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign Firewatch personnel to established work areas and project duties.
  • Ensure all Firewatch posts are fully accounted for and properly documented.
  • Provide accurate information and obtain required signatures for all Firewatch posts.
  • Communicate daily with clients and customers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks, materials inventory, and oversee proper use of equipment.
  • Communicate promptly with PMI and client supervision/management regarding any potential Firewatch violations or plant hazards.
  • Comply with PMI and client supervision during investigations as required.
  • Ensure staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to staff to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Provide coaching and additional training to associates as required per site and company standards.
  • Report findings, issues, and operational updates to the Account Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Maintain a sanitary, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate and promote PMI’s professional culture, values, and quality leadership standards.
  • Promote and enforce a Safety Conscious Work Environment in accordance with PMI and client expectations.
  • Participate in research, development, and implementation of improved methods and practices.
  • Support additional reasonable requests from PMI and clients as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with client-specific Firewatch policies and site expectations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days and nights.
  • Physically capable of extensive walking, including climbing stairs.
  • Ability to remain at a stationary post for extended periods while maintaining a high level of situational awareness.
  • Working in extreme temperatures (cold/hot); exposed to loud noise for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
