Supply Chain Technician at PIONEERS MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE DISTRICT – Brawley, California

SUMMARY:

The Perioperative Supply Chain Technician is responsible for keying, and promptly putting away all supplies within the operating rooms, cath/interventional radiology (IR) departments reviewing and maintaining all minimum and maximum inventory levels, picking scheduled cases, as well as emergency supply requests if needed. The Perioperative Supply Chain Technician is also responsible for conducting physical inventories of all supply areas designated under the Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology and Surgery Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Put-away all delivered supplies from materials management in an accurate and timely manner,

2. Picking both scheduled and emergent surgical cases as needed

Performs inventory management for the Cath/IR and Surgery Department.

3. Evaluates the appropriate minimum and maximum levels

4. Reviews minimum and maximum for storeroom stock daily and place appropriately.

5. Count Par levels according to schedule

6. Rotated stock to ensure no items are our of date

7. React to stock outs by communicating to appropriate chain of command

8. Provide assistance to staff and help resolve problems, questions and concerns

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work flexible, rotating shifts when required

2. Other duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or GED is required

2. Hospital supply experience preferred.

3. Previous stock clerk experience is helpful

4. Communication – communicates clearly and concisely

5. Customer orientation – establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations

6. Interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with other employees, supervisors, and external parties

7. Policies & Procedures – demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems

8. PC skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required

9. Basic skills – able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time; sitting for short periods of time.

2. Requires ability to push and pull a variety of carts and material handling equipment.

3. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch and reach frequently.

4. Must be able to make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.

5. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

6. Requires ability to touch and differentiate textures and temperatures.

7. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate reports through written and verbal means.

8. Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force and 50 lbs. of force frequently to move objects, and lifting papers or boxes up to 50 lbs. frequently.

9. Work may be performed in an office, patient care areas, as well as, a stockroom/supply room environment.

10. Work may be stressful at times.

11. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
