About This Position
Responsible for maintaining inventory locations for accuracy par levels and supplies to, reduce supply expense and increased operational efficiency. Ensure data accuracy within the technology platform by working in accordance with established procedure guidelines. Serve as point of contact for all supply-related issues pertaining to the technology platform. Required to assist in the implementation of technology platform(s), including collecting product data, usage, and assisting with inventory and staff training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in ongoing PAR reviews and communications with clinical staff and material management to optimize inventory and service levels.
- Ensures timely and accurate system maintenance to include product additions, changes, deletes and product conversions.
- Organizes and prioritizes Material Management Systems-related activities to include the creation and measurement of implementation and process improvement project plans.
- Provides and enhances relevant reporting from the various systems maintained.
- Organize and clearly label stocking locations. Maintain product stocking locations to ensure a dust free environment, rotating stock, organizing, and labeling products. Maintain locations in technology platform if applicable.
- Support customer value analysis initiatives as required. Submit new product requests in accordance with customer guidelines.
- Maintain electronic data files as necessary in the technology platform, including customer units of measure, consignment inventory and expiration date tracking.
- Assist with the management team performing cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
- Utilize the technology platform to recommend accurate PAR levels for stocking locations, to reduce inventory value and expired product. Determine appropriate ordering threshold to maximize efficiency of ordering and restocking processes.
- Assist training staff on use of technology platform. May be required to act as site administrator for technology platform.
- Comply with hospital policy regarding monitoring and responding to product recall notices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge of computer Inventory systems, Inventory management and healthcare. Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in healthcare is preferred.
EDUCATION
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•General knowledge of a variety of basic skills such as math, reading, typing, etc. Must be able to multi-task and possess effective organizational, communication and human relations skills
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
•Valid NYS Driver’s License

Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
• Computer experience with Inventory management software, basic (intermediate preferred) knowledge of Windows, Microsoft excel, word and Outlook.
