Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking an experienced Boiler Mechanic to join its team at its Production Facility in Oroville, CA. PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality food for customers across North America.

Our Oroville facility produces pears, peaches, fruit cocktails, and employs 169 full-time workers year-round and a seasonal work force of over 1,200. The Industrial Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial equipment in our production facility.

Pay Range: $40.00 per hour

This full-time, on-site role is based at our Oroville, CA Production Facility and requires occasional weekend and overtime hours as needed. As part of a seniority-based collective bargaining unit, this position requires flexibility for various shifts.

Primary job duties would include:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on boilers and related equipment
  • Make water and stack gas analyses
  • Roll in boiler tubes
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with boilers and related systems
  • Make recommendations for repairs, replacements, and upgrades as needed
  • Lubricate, clean and paint equipment and other maintenance equipment as needed.
  • Install new equipment and systems as required
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed
  • Participate in safety training programs and adhere to all safety protocols
  • Consult with supervision on needed repairs or changes.
  • Operate and maintain water softening and water treatment equipment.
  • Responsible for maintenance and operating of the air compressed generation.
  • May repair or replace steam and water valves throughout the plant.
  • Provide support to other areas of maintenance as needed
  • Requisition of boiler room parts and supplies
  • Locate, line up and anchor machinery
  • Weld, including heliarc and stainless steel
  • May operate a forklift
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

  • Satisfactorily completed a related educational degree, certificate, or program; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and production personnel.
  • May be required to have license to operate boilers.
  • Tolerant of unique, perhaps demanding, industrial working conditions.
  • Committed to safety and food safety, including use of appropriate protective equipment.
  • Availability to work weekend and overtime during our harvest season (July-November).
  • Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in several of the following skills: welding, lift truck mechanics, plumbing/pipefitting, heating/air conditioning systems, boiler care and maintenance, instrument repair, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry.
