Laboratory Technician at AGAT Laboratories – Tempe, Arizona

AGAT Laboratories is a full-service, multi-national laboratory with locations across North America. Our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of geochemistry, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, engineering and other specialty services. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Mining, Environmental, Energy, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.

What you will be doing:

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Administrative support.
• Inventory management of laboratory supplies.
• Correspondence with vendors and manufactures.
• Research projects through assembly and analyses of date to prepare reports and documentation.
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
• Operate instruments, with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Perform basic analysis as required.
• Report results.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

• Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
• Basic office or administration experience.
• Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.

Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
