About This Position

We are seeking a strategic and innovative Learning & Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of training and development solutions for our 4,000+ employee workforce across multiple regions and business units. This leader will oversee a team of training professionals and will design modern, engaging, and scalable learning programs that support employee growth, performance excellence, and organizational success.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong instructional design expertise, the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment, and a passion for building a culture of learning.


Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Program Development
  • Evaluate organizational training needs and design development programs that support company-wide learning goals across all regions.
  • Oversee the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of employee and leadership training.
  • Lead the creation and modernization of instructor-led, blended, experiential, media-based, and other emerging learning solutions.
  • Develop and administer an engaging onboarding and new-hire orientation experience.
Leadership & Oversight
  • Lead a team of trainers and instructional designers across multiple regions.
  • Provide oversight for the company's LMS, e-learning content, course materials, job aids, and participant guides.
  • Guide performance management and succession planning processes in partnership with corporate leadership.
Program Facilitation & Support
  • Facilitate targeted worker safety, job skills, and certification training programs as needed.
  • Oversee new employee training requirements, ensuring accurate tracking, completion, and certifications.
  • Identify professional development needs and implement training plans for individual contributors, supervisors, managers, and high-potential employees.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Conduct needs assessments with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Director of HR, training specialists, and senior leaders to support workforce planning and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Consult with departments across the organization to align training with business priorities.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Continuous Improvement
  • Review existing programs and recommend modern enhancements or new course development.
  • Ensure learning solutions align with company strategy, goals, and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and organizational needs.

Skills & Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of experience in Learning & Development within a mid-size or large organization.
  • Proven experience as an L&D Manager, Training Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience managing direct reports in a divisional or multi-regional structure preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of modern learning methodologies, adult learning theory, and instructional design best practices.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Retail industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training programs across various delivery methods (instructor-led, virtual, blended, multimedia, job aids, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to consult effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with employees, leaders, and external partners.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, writing proficiency, and the ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Advanced computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly.

The pay range for this position is from $90,000-$100,000 per year.
