The dean will have at least five years of significant academic administration experience in higher education at the level of department chair, department head, director, associate dean or higher. Successful candidates will possess a distinguished record of teaching, research and service sufficient to qualify for appointment as a professor with tenure in a University of Kentucky academic department.

Serving as the dean of the Lewis Honors College (LHC) requires previous leadership and administrative experience in higher education. Administrative experience in an honors college or honors program is desirable but not required.
