Description:

Position Summary

The Residential Coordinator is responsible for the daily operational oversight of assigned residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This role ensures high-quality, person-centered services while maintaining compliance with MaineCare (HCBS) regulations, licensing standards, CRMA requirements, and agency policies. The Residential Coordinator supports and supervises direct care staff, promotes a culture of accountability, and ensures that services are delivered safely, ethically, and in accordance with individualized support plans.

Essential Responsibilities

Program Oversight

  • Ensure implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
  • Monitor documentation quality and timeliness
  • Oversee medication administration practices (CRMA compliance)
  • Conduct regular program audits and house reviews
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and House Managers
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance monitoring
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation
  • Monitor training compliance (SafetyCare, CRMA, mandated training)
  • Participate in corrective action processes when necessary

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with MaineCare HCBS standards
  • Review daily notes, MARs, and incident reports
  • Monitor GER reporting and follow-up
  • Maintain accurate records in electronic HR and documentation systems
  • Support licensing visits and audits

Scheduling & Staffing

  • Assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels
  • Support shift coverage and scheduling adjustments
  • Monitor overtime and staffing patterns
  • Participate in recruitment and interviewing of DSP candidates

Communication & Team Leadership

  • Serve as liaison between staff, leadership, families, and case managers
  • Participate in team meetings and planning meetings
  • Communicate expectations clearly and professionally
  • Promote positive team culture and accountability

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans
  • Address concerns related to safety or compliance immediately
  • Participate in internal investigations when needed
  • Promote dignity, independence, and community integration
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in residential or developmental disability services
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of MaineCare HCBS waiver programs (Section 21/29 preferred)
  • CRMA certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
