Position Overview: Roll Off Driver

Hometown is seeking a Roll Off Driver to join our dedicated team. As a Trash Roll Off Driver, you’ll be responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring safe, timely waste disposal. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive Roll-Off Trucks: Safely operate roll-off trucks to collect and transport waste from various residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns during pickups, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Safety First: Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition, reporting any issues.
  • Waste Disposal: Properly load and unload waste at authorized disposal sites, including landfills and recycling centers.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork, including daily logs, inspection forms, and waste manifests.
  • Maintenance and Cleanliness: Keep trucks clean and well-maintained to ensure the vehicle’s longevity and presentation.
  • Assist with Roll-Off Bin Placement: Help place or remove roll-off containers at customer sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class A or B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience driving roll-off trucks or other heavy-duty vehicles is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical exam
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in the waste management industry preferred
  • Experience with roll-off truck operations preferred
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting preferred

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts required based on the volume of routes and seasonal needs.
  • Typical Work Hours: 50-60 hours per week, with early morning start times and flexibility for overtime as needed.
