Analytics Engineer II
Position Summary
The Analytics Engineer II is a senior technical contributor responsible for the full data and analytics lifecycle, with a focus on independently designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL code, ETL pipelines, and advanced data models. This role supports enterprise-wide analytics initiatives by building scalable, high-performance data solutions across both on-premises and cloud platforms. The Analytics Engineer II collaborates with business and technology teams, provides mentorship, and ensures best practices in data modeling, integration, and governance. Monitors production systems for issues and resolves issues or elevates them for resolution when necessary.

This position is US-Remote Eligible. Responsibilities
• Designs, develops, and optimizes advanced SQL code and complex data models independently to support data integration, transformation, and reporting needs across multiple healthcare data systems, including Epic and non-Epic platforms
• Leads the development and maintenance of robust ETL pipelines using modern tools (e.g., SSIS, Data Factory, WhereScape, APIs, etc.) to ensure reliable and scalable data movement and transformation
• Builds and maintains analytics solutions on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, or equivalent following guidance and standards from the Data Architect
• Develops logical and physical data models, ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture and governance standards
• Collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data, and deliver actionable insights
• Creates, maintains, and documents scalable data models, reports, and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, Crystal Reports)
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues in production data pipelines and analytics solutions, escalating as necessary
• Contributes to the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures and best practices within the analytics team
• Mentors and provides technical guidance to Analytics Engineer I and other team members
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors’ degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years of analytics experience, with at least 10 years focused on advanced SQL code writing and data modeling in large-scale environments
• Demonstrated ability to independently design and implement complex data models and ETL solutions
• Epic Caboodle and Clarity certification/accreditation required or obtained within 90 days of hire; must remain current in certification thereafter
• At least one additional Epic data model certification/accreditation required (Clinical Data Model, Revenue Data Model, Access Data Model, etc.)
• Other required system application training/certifications to complete assigned work as necessary
• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-600 or DP-700) certification preferred
• Experience with ETL tools strongly preferred (SSIS, Data Factory, etc.)
• Data Warehousing experience with Microsoft Fabric toolset strongly preferred
• Data Visualization experience using a variety of BI tools preferred (Power BI, SSRS)
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical or business principles to evaluate information system and healthcare regulatory needs
• Experience with other healthcare EMRs and technology strongly preferred (Meditech, Nextgen, Greenway, Midas, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to independently manage customer expectations
• Leadership and mentoring experience preferred
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and service recovery efforts as required
