Position Overview:
The Permanency Supervisor will provide a full range of adoption/permanency services at designated FCCP sites, as well as provide supervisory and administrative support to the Permanency Program Manager. The position requires work with both children and adults working toward permanency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a human services field.
- Adoption/ SWAN experience required.
- Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
- Must be 21 years of age.
Position Responsibilities:
- Market adoption/permanency services to county agencies and the public. Promote the visibility of KidsPeace via local speaking engagements, etc.
- Knowledge of State Adoption Regulations, adoption/permanency bulletins, and any other pertinent adoption requirements. Prepare and complete all reports, statistical information, and other file requirements as per agency policy and state mandated regulations. Assure compliance with all bulletins and use adoption best practice guidelines.
- Handle calls from interested persons and follow-up as expediently as possible. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to build pool of adoptive families/resource families.
- Participate in the assessment, orientation, and training of families.
- Complete all units of adoption/permanency services as assigned.
- Attend regional, quarterly, and annual State meetings/conferences and attend adoption/permanency training as necessary. Participate in ongoing training as indicated by State regulations and/or KidsPeace policy.
- Act as advocate and liaison with other professional service providers in the community, potential referral sources, and within the KidsPeace organization as necessary.
- Prepare and complete all reports, statistical information and other file requirements as per agency policy and state mandated regulations.
- Oversee the Family Finding units of service for all Permanency Specialists.
- Train new staff on the Family Finding unit of service.
- Participate in the marketing of Family Finding units of service.
- Assist with monthly SWAN invoice.
- Assist with proofreading of SWAN documents for Permanency Specialists as needed.
- Provide direct supervision to staff as needed.
- Provide Quality Assurance and implementation of a tracking system to assure all Family Finding documentation is completed per KidsPeace policy and state regulations.
