Your Role
The Janitorial Operations Manager is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Janitorial Services Manager and the department. The position will oversee the day to day operations of the IDOT sites, and private and state contracts. This position is also responsible for inspecting IDOT, private and state contract to ensure sites are in compliance and meeting contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, and training employees; performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Recruits and hire staff to ensure accounts are properly staffed according to contract specifications.
  • Assists in conducting new hire department orientation, safety training, job training, etc., ensuring staff can perform tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Determine work procedures and prepare schedules while ensuring the accounts stay within the given labor budget.
  • Prepares and review all required paperwork such as time sheets, accident reports, new hire paperwork, employee training records, work orders, equipment, fleet and supply orders, etc.
  • Establish relationships with customers by visiting accounts on a regular basis to assure the highest customer satisfaction possible.
  • Documents customer concerns and resolve problems and complaints in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years management/administrative experience.
  • Experience in general cleaning, floor care, carpet care, repairing equipment; knowledge of janitorial chemicals, SDS and safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and documentation of current auto insurance with good driving record.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, software applications, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
