HVAC Technician at CSS Inc. – Grandview, Missouri

CSS is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial and commercial HVAC systems in a large facility and laboratory environment. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys complex systems, hands-on work, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service, and repair heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems
• Troubleshoot and support large HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, valves, AHUs, VAVs, and BAS controls
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer schedules (daily through annual)
• Respond to service requests and emergency repairs in a timely manner
• Inspect HVAC systems and recommend repairs or system improvements
• Safely work with multiple voltages (24VAC, 120VAC, 277VAC, 480VAC, DC)
• Document work, time, and materials using a CMMS system
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and facility safety standards

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or HVAC apprenticeship completion
• HVAC Journeyman License
• EPA Universal Certification
• Industrial or commercial HVAC experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including chiller plant systems
• Working knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
• Familiarity with ductwork, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, BAS, and static pressure
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation
• Comfortable using MS Office and electronic work order systems
• Willingness to be on-call and work evenings or weekends as needed

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 100 lbs
• Frequent bending, climbing, and working at heights up to 35 feet
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and industrial environments
