Rate: 24.00 - $25.00/Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to work on the 2nd shift in a structural steel fabrication environment. This role involves operating specialized CNC equipment to process steel components while maintaining accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines for structural steel fabrication
- Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand project requirements
- Load, position, and secure steel materials such as beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging tools
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision and quality
- Use measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and squares to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Make basic programming edits or adjustments to accommodate variations in material size or thickness
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training is a plus
- At least 2 years of CNC operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
