Our culture is built on promoting from within, investing in our people, and supporting the communities where we live and work.SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONSResponsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound log trucks, recording load data, and maintaining scale operations to support production, inventory, and supplier tracking. This role also supports mill operations through administrative functions and cross-training in equipment operations to assist with production flow as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate computerized scale system to weigh trucks (loaded and empty) and accurately record weightsVerify and input supplier, trucking company, and customer information into systemPrepare, print, and distribute scale tickets and packing documentationEnsure all data entry is accurate, complete, and timelyMaintain organized logs, records, and filing systems for scale tickets and related documentationPrepare and distribute weekly waste and production-related reportsCommunicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal departmentsSupport production tracking through completion of daily tallies, downtime tracking, and reportsParticipate in action planning and continuous improvement processesCross-train to safely assist with basic equipment operations and production support tasks as neededPerform all other duties as assigned by supervisor ADDITIONAL DUTIESAttend meetings as requiredProvide administrative support across office functions as neededCross-train on scale operations, office procedures, and sales support functionsAssist managers and supervisors with special projects and operational needsSupport other departments during high-volume periods or staffing needsQUALIFICATIONSAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsWorking knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including recordkeeping and data entryProficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong typing and data entry skillsEffective communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentBasic mathematical skills required for weighing and data accuracyAbility to learn and safely perform basic equipment operations as part of cross-trainingStrong attention to detail and decision-making abilitySAFETY REQUIREMENTSFollow all company safety policies and office safety proceduresWhen in mill or production areas:Follow all area and machine-specific safety regulationsWear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hardhat, safety glasses, and hearing protectionDo not enter restricted areasReport unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment immediatelyRequest assistance when tasks exceed individual knowledge or capabilityVisually inspect equipment and surrounding area prior to operationFollow standard lockout/tagout procedures when applicableUse proper lifting techniques at all timesNever approach operating machinery until it has come to a complete stopBENEFITSRex Lumber offers a competitive benefits package designed to support our employees and their families:Company-paid employee-only health insurance (with prescription coverage)Vision and dental insurance (upgrade options available at employee expense)Teladoc (telehealth services)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid vacation and 7 paid holidays$50,000 Life and AD&D insurance (company-paid)401(k) with company match (up to 4% based on employee contribution)Safety and wellness incentivesRally Health rewards programEmployee referral programOn-the-job training and opportunities for advancement
