Job Hours:

Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm or 7:30am-4pm

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned buildings.
  • Uses a cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
  • Cleans and disinfects restrooms, classrooms, kitchens, and dining areas.
  • Sweeps and dust rooms and hallways.
  • Washes furniture, floors, windows, and walls.
  • Scrubs and waxes floor and shampoos carpets.
  • Picks up litter and trash.
  • Ensures building security, locking and unlocking doors for cleaning or special school events after regular hours; checks for unauthorized persons in the building; calls security at opening or closing of the building; checks and locks windows.
  • Maintains and cares for assigned work equipment and work areas.
  • Loads or unloads supplies and equipment and moves furniture, as required.
  • Wipes and dusts surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors.
  • Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
  • Picks up and empties trash containers.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly janitor's room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
  • Washes windows.
  • Assists in examining school for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to supervisor, Senior Director of IT & Operations, or principal.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

Detail-oriented and thorough.

Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.

Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.

6 months’ housekeeping experience preferred.

Education and Experiences:

Education is sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
