C&K employees are self-starters, detail-orientated and adaptable. We are currently hiring for the position of 5 Axis CNC Setup Person. This position will be based out of Conyers, GA.
POSITION SUMMARY
In alignment with company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the 5 Axis CNC Set-up Person produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Reads and interprets blueprint designs of the product to be manufactured and sets machine to produce product/components to customer specification.
- Reads and interprets job traveler and enters correct information into ERP system.
- Loads CNC fixtures into machines and sets up 3-axis and 5-axis router to manufacture parts.
- Measures first piece and submits report to Quality department to obtain permission to run production.
- Programs router by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements including basic math, geometry, trigonometry, proving part programs.
- Periodically checks CNC machine to ensure positioning of drills stay perfectly aligned.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment through preventative maintenance; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
- Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read technical manuals/blueprints/drawings
- Methodical/analytical problem-solving skills, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail
- Ability to work well with limited supervision.
- Professional presentation and attitude
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Certificate or 2-year technical degree in Machine Technology, Precision Machining or CNC Operations
- Previous experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routing machines required. Computerized milling and lathe experience is helpful but must be on 5 axis machines.
- Experience with machines that have Fenuc or Fagor controllers.
- Candidates who have experience working in thermoforming, blow molding, rim molding or other plastic processing preferred. Candidates who have metal machining experience also preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS
The employee will work both on the manufacturing floor and in the maintenance shop and office. Normal plant environment which may include exposure to dust, and both hot and cold conditions. Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with government and company safety standards. Must be able to walk, stand, and lift objects, up to 50lbs.
