Primary Location: This is a hybrid role that can be based in Fargo, ND or Alexandria, LA

Position Summary:

The Procurement Manager - Capital Projects & Equipment is responsible for sourcing and procuring capital equipment to support design, engineering, and construction projects for Applied Digital's data center footprint. This role involves vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality equipment to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital procurement, vendor management, and an understanding of the needs of large-scale engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with capital project stakeholders to align strategies for capital equipment to support engineering and construction projects.
  • Manage requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of large-scale equipment for capital projects.
  • Perform vendor management activities, ensuring vendors meet expectations and contractual SLAs.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and manage the contract lifecycle to ensure ongoing alignment with project and service needs.
  • Oversee the procure-to-pay process, ensuring requisitions and purchase orders are processed and approved in accordance with internal SLAs.
  • Manage procurement schedules to align with project timelines and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting to support invoicing and resolve invoice-related issues.
  • Track and monitor supplier delivery performance, addressing issues or delays proactively.
  • Support additional procurement-related activities to ensure the overall success of the procurement team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in capital procurement, within the construction or engineering industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related field. Relevant experience in lieu of degree will also be considered
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, vendor negotiations, and supply chain compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and contract terms.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think ahead and anticipate supply chain risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), or equivalent.
  • Experience managing procurement for technology infrastructure projects, data centers, or large-scale construction.
  • Familiarity with blockchain, cryptocurrency mining, or high-performance computing environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
